After making a lasting impression with her debut hit, “Why Ya Wanna,” Jana Kramer is back with a heartbreak tune. The singer’s follow-up single, “Whiskey,” shows a serious side of the singer, as it talks about love gone wrong. Jana admits that when she heard the song for the first time, it was not what she expected – in a good way! (Audio) “I thought it was gonna be some uptempo bar song…which is fine! I’m fine with that, but at the time, I wasn’t in the mood to hear that. And then I heard this song, and I was like, ‘are you kidding me?! This is amazing!’ It’s relating a guy to whiskey…and I love guys and I love whiskey so it’s a good pairing! [Laughs].” Jana received a nod in the New Female Vocalist of the Year category for the 2013 ACM Awards. She’s up against fellow newcomers Kacey Musgraves and Sunny Sweeney. Prep CMT
